He graduated from Tech Memorial High School, became a mechanic for RD&D Corporation for 5 years and was an owner/partner of T&L Rebuilders.

Tom loved coaching kids, working with Special Olympics, scuba diving in Hawaii, working with the National Geographic of the Hawaiian Islands on special projects, and scaling the massive volcanoes.

Tom brought back to Erie his expertise in mixed gas diving and was a mixologist scuba cylinder inspector.

He was President and CEO at Divers World, where he was a dive instructor and specialized in rescue. He started SOS (Students on Scuba) and was an Oxygen Instructor (D.A.N.).

Thomas was a building Manager and LIfeguard at the YMCA.

He loved coaching soccer for Harborcreek, EYSA, and the Traveling Team. He loved hunting, fishing, and doing T.V. commercials.

“I love my family the most, they meant all the world to me. I love them with all my heart-always did and always will.

I’m very proud of my wife who stuck by me all these years, good and bad. She will be forever in my heart.

My daughter Jennifer who I love greatly and am so proud of, along with her husband Preston.

Thomas Slomski, my clone who I admire deeply for all that he’s accomplished, along with his wife Misty.

My daughter Stephanie, who died too soon and left us all with broken hearts and Sebastian who I really loved. Brandon, who is very intelligent, knows where he’s going and knows what he wants. He has the personality of a genuine, realistic person, and is about to marry a wonderful person. I wish you all the best in the future.”

Tom Slomski was a simple man, yet had talents far and wide. The most loving heart, that will be missed by many. A love for nature, a love for family. He never held back and made sure his mind was spoken. Tom’s body will be donated to science to help save others. This is to no surprise for all that knew him. Selfless, Giving, Loving.

Per Tom’s request no funeral services will be held.

Any memorials will be donated to St. Jude’s Hospital 1-800-980-8628.
