Raymond Paul Rogers

On Friday March 8, 2019 on his 93rd birthday Raymond P. Rogers was called to his heavenly home to be reunited with his loving daughters Judy T. Rogers and Sandra A. Rogers Cottrell who preceded him in death. He was born in Erie PA on March 8. 1926, son of the late Max and Rose (Kroto) Rogers.
In addition to to his daughters and parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Max (Leah) Rogers, Edmund (Helen) Rogers, James (Jean) Rogers, Dr. Thomas (June) Rogers and his four sisters, Theresa Feasler, Gerri (Eddie) Stumpo, Tillie (Jack) Brutcher, Rosemary (Delbert) Gorton.
Ray is survived by his loving and dedicated wife of 70 years, Netty (Tooty) J. Baranski) Rogers, a loving father to his daughter Agnes (Douglas) Danowski and a son Eric Rogers (Karen Butts). Ray was a caring grandfather (Dziadzia) to his five grandchildren, Carly (Justin) Plyler, A.J. (Samantha) Cottrell, Franklin TN, Ryan Danowski, SanDiego, CA, Taylor and Hannah Rogers, and one great granddaughter, Claire Plyler. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Raymond was a veteran of World War II serving in the United States Army. He was employed at Dailey Chevrolet for 25 years. He was the owner of Ray Rogers Auto Body on McKinley Avenue. Also employed by Holy Trinity Catholic Church for many years before retiring. After retirement Ray enjoyed gardening and woodworking, continuing Polish family traditions and customs with his beloved wife.
Friends may visit with the family at the Carl A. Slomski & Son Funeral Home Inc. 2101 Ash Street on Monday, March 11, 2019 from 3:00pm to 7:00pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at 10am at St. James Catholic Church, 2635 Buffalo Road, Erie, PA. Friends are requested to please go directly to church. Private burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
