Nina Soety Obituary

Much Loved

Nina Jo Emch Soety, age 84 of Millcreek, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday morning January 13th, 2021 at her residence.

Nina was born in Paden City, W.Va., on November 5, 1936, a daughter of the late Leo and Nelda Jesse Cecil Emch.

Nina graduated from Harbor Creek High School in 1952. She worked at Marx Toys and Bucyrus Erie. She met and fell in love with Joseph Soety and they were married on May 4, 1956.

Although Nina endured a lengthy battle with Leukemia, she maintained a positive attitude. Her dignity and strength were an inspiration to everyone she came in contact with. Nina unselfishly and so very lovingly cared for her late husband for over 50 years as a full time caregiver. Nina's greatest joy came from spending time with her children and their families. Nina was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses for over 46 years and was member of the Asbury Woods Kingdom Hall. Nina firmly believed in the bible's hope of a resurrection to an earthly paradise and shared that hope with others.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by the love of her life Joseph J. Soety, a beautiful infant daughter, and her brother Randy Emch.

Nina is survived by her four daughters, Kimberly and Raymond Cole, Kelly and Peter Ameno, Karen and Michael Genovese and Kristi and George Abbott. She is also survived by six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren whom she loved with all her heart. Adam and Tara Cole and their two children Liam and Owen. Michael and Andrea Ameno and their two children Nicholas and Parker, Joseph Ameno, Anthony and Shelby Genovese, Giancarlo Genovese and Ninarose Genovese. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters – Ronald and Denise Emch, Barry and Paulette Emch, Nancy (Tootsie) Emch, Nila Alberico, Beatty Emch and many nieces and nephews that she cared deeply for.

Through the years, Nina made some very close and dear friends who were a special part of her life.

Arrangements were entrusted to the Carl A. Slomski & Son Funeral Home, 2101 Ash St.

In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in Nina's name to Watchtower Society of New York, Worldwide Work, 900 Red Mills Rd., Walkill, NY 12589, or online at donate.jw.org.
