Mary Beth Smogorzewski, age 58 of Erie, PA died Friday October 28th 2022 at UPMC Hamot. She was born Mary Elizabeth on March 14th 1964 and was the daughter of the late Chester and Helena Smogorzewski
Mary Beth had a career as a critical care nurse and also was a nursing educator at Hamot for many years. Her passion for volunteering included several parish ministries at St. Joseph Bread of Life Community Church such as the weekly Divine Mercy Chaplet Rosary, bereavement ministry, and Mass ministry. Mary Beth was an Associate of the Sisters of St. Joseph. She also enjoyed being of service at the East Side Neighborhood Network.
Mary Beth had a special love for her many Portuguese water dogs over the years. She had fun competing in agility and showmanship with her beloved pets.
Mary Beth was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her sisters Judy Morphy of Apex NC, Patricia DiLoreto (Robert) of Buffalo NY, Karen Knoch (William) of Danville, PA, her brother Thomas Smogorzewski (Lisa) of Pacific, MO and many nieces, nephews and Godchildren. She is also survived by her dear friend Pam Kiehlmeier, who was like a sister to her.
Friends may call at the Carl A. Slomski & Son Funeral Home 2101 Ash St. on Tuesday (Today) from 4PM to 7PM and may attend a Funeral Mass at St. Joseph Bread of Life Church on Wednesday at 10AM (Everyone please go directly to Church)
Private burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
