Obituary
Kathleen A. Hughes, 77 of Erie passed away on Saturday October 2, 2021 at LECOM at Presque Isle Nursing Home.
She was born in Chester, PA on March 3, 1944 daughter of the late Hugh Patrick Hughes and Edna C. Firl.
Kathleen attended school at Sagamore Elementary, Wilson JR High and Academy High School. She was a graduate of Capitol City School of Nursing in Washington DC and a member of the American National Red Cross She was a RN in the Pediatric unit at DC General in Washington, DC. She also worked Walter Reed, Washington, DC, and for a short time at Battersby Nursing Home in Erie.
She loved bingo, arts and crafts, Star Wars, and country music.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, James Arnold Hughes and Lyle Grant Hughes, half brothers Edward Henry Hughes, Richard Hughes and Robert H. Hughes, half sisters, Louise Hughes and Mercedes Hughes, nephew Edward Hughes and niece Elizabeth Stevens.
She is survived by a cousin, many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
A private graveside service was held with burial in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
