Edwin E. "Bud" Gonser, 95, a resident of the PA Soldiers & Sailors Home passed away there Saturday March 26, 2022
He was born in Erie on December 30, 1926 son of the late Ludwig and Vera Stuber Gonser.
Edwin's first job was at Herman's Cafe at the age of 14. He graduated from Academy High School in 1945. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during World War II. He was stationed in Croft S.C, Fort Benning GA, and Regensburg Germany, Edwin was the owner of Gonser Garage having worked with his Dad there from 1946-1991. He then worked at Jabe Construction from 1994-2013. He enjoyed working on cars with his friends, having built his own car. He served as past President, Vice -President and Captain of the Team Grandpa's Bowling League. Bud also served as past President and was a Board member of the Sunflower Club and also was a member of the P.N.A. Club. He enjoyed crossword puzzles and bingo,
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Katherine Pancerev Gonser, his son Gary Gonser, sister Vera Froess, brother Paul Gonser and step-mother Georgia.
Survivors include his daughter Pam Holland (Louie), daughter-in-law Kathleen Gonser, grandchildren, Heidi Albertie (Treevy), Gretchen Wolfe (Dewey), Louie Holland Jr., Philip Pinzok (Jenn), Matthew Pinzok (Beth), great grandchildren, Deej, Demi, Daxton, Gavin, Lilly, Eli and Emily, and step-daughters Sandy Gordon (Tom), Debi Dekiel (Stan) and Becky Herman (Dave).
No calling hours were observed. Private burial with full military honors was held in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
