Donald "Chip" Czupkowski, 89 of Erie passed away Wednesday December 14, 2022 at St. Vincent Hospital.after a brief illness.
He was born in Erie on February 9, 1933 son of the late John and Veronica Stankiewicz Czupkowski.
Chip was an Army Veteran. He enjoyed going to the casino to play the horses. He also liked to play the PA Lottery games. He also loved the Yankee's and was called "Yogi" by some of his friends.. Chip was a very good bowler who would bowl you for money anytime and most likely took your money. He belonged to several clubs on Erie's Eastside. He retired from Republic Water Heaters after 20 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Gabriella Wisniewski, Frances Rawa, Joanne Fornalczyk, Dorothy Campany and Theresa Snyder, his brothers, John Czupkowski and Raymond Czupkowski, and his longtime friend and companion Norma Krawecki-Liebel.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Carl A. Slomski & Son Funeral Home 2101 Ash St. on Sunday (12/18/2022) from 6PM to 8PM and may attend a Funeral Mass on Monday at St. Stanislaus Church at 10AM Full military honors will be performed immediately following Mass at Church.
Private entombment will be in Erie County Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
