On Monday January 3, 2022, Anna Mae Vogt Anaya, loving wife, and mother of 4 children, passed away at the age of 89.
Anna was born on July 21, 1932 in Erie, PA, daughter of the late Fred and Mary Koper Vogt. She was a lifelong resident of Erie where she attended St. John the Baptist Grade School and graduated from Academy High School. She retired from Pulakos Chocolates after many years of working there.
Anna had a passion for gardening and local politics. She loved to travel and has been known to visit a few casinos. Anna embraced her Polish heritage and looked forward to Zabawa festival every year enjoying Polkas and food from the region. She was known for her outgoing and fun-loving spirit; always ready to go.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Louis M. Anaya, a son Alan Anaya, sister Mary Sullivan, her brother Raymond Vogt and her son-in-law Jon Sorenson.
She is survived by her children, David (Sylvia), Kathy Sorenson (Chet Mikolajczak), Robert (Linda), and Louis (Denise). She will be tremendously missed by her grandchildren, Dennis Sorenson, Michael Anaya, Brent Sorenson, Briana Anaya, Robert (Bobbie) Anaya, Meghan Anaya, Jeffrey Anaya, Jennifer Anaya, Abby Anaya and Joseph Anaya, her 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews..
Friends may call at St. John the Baptist Church 509 East 26th St. on Tuesday January 11, 2022 from 10 A.M. until the time of the Funeral Mass there at 11 A.M. Everyone attending must wear a mask regardless of vaccination status.
Private burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
