Mary Anna Farak Krol, 103, of Erie passed away Saturday January 27, 2018 at St. Vincent Hospital. She was born in the town of Chestnut Ridge, PA in Fayette county April 7, 1914 daughter of the late Stanley and Margaret Pituch Farak. Mary graduated from the 8th grade at Aminty Township School. She worked for Mayor Eaton of North East, and the Shrives who operated the Bank in Union City, Union City Chair Factory, and Sears sewing drapes. Mary was a member of the Rosary Alter Society at Holy Rosary Church where she also cleaned linens and worked bingo. Most of all, she was the best mother of all. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank Krol (1986), her daughter Donna, grandson Stephen Hanlin, and son-in-law Charles (Skip) Hanlin, sister Anna Zajac, and brothers Stanley Farak and Thomas Farak. She is survived by two sons and one daughter. Her eldest son Frank Krol and wife Gale from Glen Burnie MD and their children, Cara, Kurt and Andy, her daughter Arlene Hanlin and her son David from Ashburn VA, Mary's son Robert Krol and wife Leona (Winship) from Erie, and their children Sharon, Greg, Troy, Brian, and Kevin, great grandchildren, Edwin, Megan, Logan, Justin, Camarron, Abby, Dana, Carly, Ava, Claire and Casey, her brother Walter Farak and wife Rose, brother-in-law Ted Krol and wife Barbara, and sisters-in-law Irene Krol and Gladys Farak. Friends may call at the Carl A. Slomski & Son Funeral Home Inc. 2101 Ash St. Friday 4pm to 7pm and on Saturday at Holy Rosary Church from 9am to the time of the Funeral Mass there at 10am.
