Janet D. Milewski Lee Dawson, 79 passed away on Monday May 15, 2017 at Fairview Manor.  She was born in Erie, PA on March 15, 1938,  daughter of the late Stephen Milewski (A great fisherman) and Jean Pelech Milewski.  She was a graduate of St. Hedwig's School and St. Benedict Academy.  She worked at GE, Plastics, and was the former owner of J's Tavern and Porky's Tavern.  Janet was a past member of the PNA Club, CYS Club, Society of Holy Trinity Club, Siebenbuerger Club, and the American Legion.  She loved  gardening, camping, playing piochle, polka music, and going to the casino.  Her greatest love was Sunday mornings when her daughters would take her for a car ride around the beach to see the turtles, and stop for a orange/vanilla ice cream cone.  Her greatest enjoyment in life was being with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband Vernon Dawson and brothers Felix and James Milewski.  She is survived by five children, Chester (Robin) Lee, Cheryl (Craig) Wright, Susan Pontillo, Brenda (Rod) Khayat, and Anastasia (Dave) Lachica, former sons-in-law Ron Lachica and Joe Pontillo, 12 grandchildren, Michael (Jen) Lee, Timothy Lee,  Thomas (Erin) Wright, Salvatore (Morgan) Pontillo, Elisabetta Pontillo, Stefania Pontillo, Zakariya Khayat, Zahare Khayat, Jennifer Lachica, Amanda (Matt) Wieczorek, Christina Lachica, and Olivia Lachica, 7 great grandchildren, Mason, Jack, Tom, Caleb, Holden, Christian, and Hannah, and sisters, Dolores Slowikowski, Rose Jaskiewicz, and Patricia (Ron) Mielewski. Special thanks to Davita Dialysis 16th St., UPMC Hamot 8th floor, her family at Fairview Manor, and Regional Home Health and Hospice.  Friends may call at the Carl A. Slomski & Son Funeral Home 2101 Ash St. on Wednesday 4pm to 7pm.  Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family with burial in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation or to Davita Dialysis.  Please send condolences to www.slomskifuneralhome.com
