Clara S. Turowski Szymanski, 94, a resident of Abington Crest Nursing & Rehabilitation Center passed away there Saturday January 13, 2018. She was born in Erie on August 11, 1923 daughter of the late Frank and Mary Ann Kulick Turowski. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Clara formerly was involved with the Marines Mother's Club. She was preceded in death by her husband Stephen Szymanski, son Joseph Szymanski, sisters, Julia Niebauer, Genevieve Pohl and Sophie Sims, and brothers, Peter, Stanley, Charles, Anthony, John, Frank Jr., Harry, and Raymond Turowski. Survivors include her son Steve Szymanski and his wife Dorothy, daughters, Terry Giordano and husband Louis, and Janet Downing and husband Bill, grandchildren, Sara Foss, Derrick Szymanski, and Nadia Dovishaw and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at Holy Trinity Church East 22nd & Reed St. on Tuesday from 11am to the time of the Funeral Mass there at 12noon. Private burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
