Beatrice Annette Sarnowski Phillips, 88 a resident of St. Mary's Home of Erie East died there Tuesday October 24, 2017. She was born in Erie on October 13, 1929 daughter of the late Anthony and Antonina Potocka Sarnowski. Beatrice was a member of Holy Trinity Church. She was employed as a Nurse's Aide at St. Mary's Home East from 1967 to 1999. She enjoyed cooking, and baking for family gatherings, reading, watching Hallmark movies and Cookie Sunday. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-mother Julia Kacperowicz Sarnowski, husband Frank W. Phillips, whom she married August 12, 1950, sister Kathleen Lee, brother Anthony Sarnowski Jr., sisters-in-law, Gladys Sarnowski and Jean Sarnowski, and dear friend Sally Truchanowicz. Survivors include her children Walter Phillips, Margaret Kucinski (Gregory), Theresa Stachera (Thomas), and Christine Soliwoda (James), grandchildren, Melissa Kucinski, Scott Kucinski, Michael Stachera (Susan), Stacey Stachera (Skyler), Douglas Soliwoda, Luke Soliwoda (Chloe), Rebecca Soliwoda, and Patric Phillips, great grandson Liam Soliwoda, brothers Frank Sarnowski and Robert Sarnowski, sisters, Rose Fries (Bill), and Julie Phillips (Jim), a dear friend Fr. Joe Wardanski, and many nieces, nephews, sisters in law and brothers in law. Thank you to all employees of St. Mary's East who had a part in Mom's care. Special Thank you to Dr. Candib, the nursing staff and the therapists for their excellent care, concern and compassion. Friends may call at the Carl A. Slomski & Son Funeral Home Inc. 2101 Ash St. on Friday from 4pm to 8pm and may attend a service there Saturday at 9:30am followed by a Funeral Mass at Holy Trinity Church at 10am.
