Irene Paczynski

Irene Ropelewski Paczynski, 97 of Erie, passed away August 22, 2023 at LECOM Senior Living Center.  She was born in Erie on April 28, 1926, daughter of the late Joseph P. and Stefania (Sudol) Ropelewski.  She resided in Erie her entire life and was formerly employed as a cashier at Loblaws and later at Krogers Grocery Stores, a career she was proud of.  She was also a homemaker for many years.  Irene was a very outgoing people person and had many friends.  She enjoyed a variety of activities including doll collecting, going to yard and estate sales, and playing cards.  In her younger days, she was an accomplished artist, painting in oils.  She cherished her Siamese Cats and loved animals.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband Edward Paczynski, and her brothers: John, Raymond, Frank, Edward, Joseph, and Norbert Ropelewski.
She is  survived by a son, Gary Paczynski and numerous nieces and nephews.  Her son wishes to thank all her caregivers at the LECOM Senior Living Center and the former Pleasant Ridge Manor East.

Family and friends may call at the Calvary Cemetery East Mausoleum Chapel on Monday August 28th from 10AM until the time of the service there at 11AM with burial to follow.
Memorials may be made to the American Brain Foundation or the animal shelter of your choice.
