Georgia J. (Walburn) Brown

Georgia Jeanette (Walburn) Brown of Erie, PA passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 29, 2023.  She was 78 years old. She began raising a family in 1966 and was an exceptional Mother, Wife, Sister, Aunt, Daughter, and friend to all who knew her. 

She cared deeply for her family and neighbors. She did this not out of obligation, but because of who she was. She was always the first to offer help. She regularly brought baked goods to friends and family.  And she ensured that every child who crossed her threshold was safe, healthy, and happy.  She claimed that she only knew about children, baking, and sewing…but anyone that knew her knew that she was so much more.  Her final days were spent peacefully in her home in Erie, PA surrounded by family and close friends. Known for her sense of humor and her devotion to family and friends, Georgia (or Honey as she was known by her grandchildren) will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Georgia is survived by her daughter, Rochelle (Brown) Robinson (Doug Oyler) of Girard, PA, her son, Jeffery Brown (Colleen) of North Olmsted, OH, and her son Brad Brown (Cheri) of Erie, PA, five grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, sisters Lillian aka Christine Gunn, of Erie, PA and Iris Turkowski (Jim), and brother William Walburn (Phyllis), of Erie, PA.  She was predeceased by her husband Virgil L. Brown; her parents Harry and Lucille Walburn; brothers, Harry Walburn aka Butch and Richard Walburn, and sister, Evelyn Shaffer aka Dee and grandson, Cory A. Robinson. 

Friends may call at the Carl A. Slomski & Son Funeral Home, Inc. 2101 Ash Street, Erie PA on Saturday, Sept. 2, 2023, from 1pm to the services there at 4pm.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Aseracare Hospice 12664 Rt. 19 S, Unit 1(A), Waterford, PA 16441.  Please send condolences to www.slomskifuneralhome.com.
